If you have contacted SUN FOR FREE — on WhatsApp, by phone or by email — you can ask us to delete the personal information we hold about you. This page explains how to do that and what happens next.
How to ask us to delete your information
Email us
Put "Data deletion request" in the subject line.
So that we can find the right records, please tell us:
- the phone number you used to message us on WhatsApp, or the email address you used to contact us;
- your name, if you gave it to us;
- roughly when you contacted us, if you remember — this helps if there are several enquiries from the same area.
That is all we need. Please do not send us passwords, one-time codes, copies of identity documents, or payment details. We will never ask you for any of those in order to process a deletion request. If we cannot match your request to a record, we will simply ask you for one more detail about the enquiry.
You can also send the request as a reply in the WhatsApp conversation you already have with us.
What we delete
- Your phone number, email address and name as held in our records.
- The messages you exchanged with us, including any attachments you sent.
- The enquiry record created from your conversation.
- Quotation records prepared for you, where we are not required to keep them.
Where full deletion is not possible, we may instead anonymise the record so that it can no longer be linked to you.
What we may need to keep
Some records may need to be kept even after a deletion request, where this is necessary for legal, tax, accounting, contractual or dispute-resolution purposes — for example where a contract was signed, work was carried out, or an invoice was issued.
Where we keep something for one of those reasons, we will tell you what it is and why, and we will not use it for any other purpose.
How long it takes
We aim to respond to deletion requests within 30 days of receiving them.
If we need to check a detail with you before we can identify your records, or if the request is unusually complex, it may take us longer. In that case we will let you know and tell you when you can expect an answer.
Deleting the conversation on your own device
Deleting a chat in your own WhatsApp app removes it from your phone only. It does not remove our copy. To have our copy removed, please use the request process above.
